When I switch from low beam to high beam by pushing the light switch stalk forward, my headlights go out. Headlights work fine on low beam. When I pull the light switch stalk "in" the high beams work. So I don't think it is the lamps, fuse, or power wiring to the lamps socket. I took the steering console apart and removed the light switch stalk and cleaned everything up, still didn't work. Any suggestions out there?

When I cleaned mine it worked for a few on/off cycles and then stopped again. My assumption was that the metal strip conected to the contacts had lost there spring. I took the assembly apart and re-bent the contacts and it worked for a while but it wasnt ever great. Eventually I bought a used switch assembly and replaced the worn out one.

I had the same problem, Yota Yard solved it for me. A used multi-switch and now I have hi-beams!!!.:D

X3 on the switch being bad. Additionally even when I cleaned the switch it would only work for a short while pulled back. Upgrading the headlight harness/headlights fixed that issue. Plus I got the blinding mega power of real headlights.

x4 It sounds like the relay. Pull one at a time until you find the one that doesn't change anything. Then switch the low beam and high beam relay and see if low beams go out and high beams work.

A new multiswitch from Cruiserdan ran me somewhere around $130. Not real cheap, but it fixed my brights issue, which was similar. Install was 20 minutes. And now all those switches in there are new, instead of 23 years old.

Thanks for the pricing info. I know mine's bad, but my 60 doesn't go fast enough for me to need brights.

I know, I know. Get it replaced for the downhills :D
