Can the stock suspension handle 60-80lbs on the front end if I add a synthetic winch? I do have 150k on the GX and don't know if anything has ever been done to the suspension.

I see MetalTech Goblin front bumpers on stock trucks all the time, and they weigh 104lbs (I have one on order for my truck). I did replace my shocks/struts recently, though, all struts should be replaced no later than 100k miles, so for that reason you may have a small issue. All four corners cost me $280.00, plus I got a $50 Visa gift card back, from Rock Auto (Gabriel shocks/struts for a 2007 V8 4runner).

Yes. I run mine on stock suspension for a couple months and its OK.

Thanks, you mind sharing your setup?

Short term it is fine. More than a year you will see some sag.

From that thread, I'm understanding that there are not any good incognito options? I don't want to throw a few hundred dollars at this and it be the weak link in recovery. I would rather save and do it right the 1st time. Is a new bumper recommended for optimum strength? I was trying to save weight and money but I'll defer to the fabricators on here that know more about this. I'll wait a while and save more money if that's the right direction to go (new bumper).

ASFIR still makes a hidden winch option for Prado 120 (GX470) and Prado 150 (GX460). Should work.

Dan, is this the asfir one you mentioned?

I'm not in any rush for a hidden winch mount or new front bumper. Will probably just wait until an SSO group buy comes around. If this asfir one doesn't have the same concerns that I've read around the bud built one, this seems like a solid option, too.

JUst dropping this here for future reference.

Please note that the Prado (LandCruiser) 120 and the Lexus GX470 are almost identical and we have had many customers in the USA purchase plates for this vehicle. There is a group on Facebook "GXOR" that you can visit to see how some of them have assembled our products.

However, we have ourselves have never test fitted our products on a Lexus GX470, and as such we cannot confirm that there will be a 100% fit without need for modification. As such, should you decide to purchase any items, the responsibility would be yours only.

The Hidden Winch Plate weighs approximately 25 kg and the Gear & Transfer Plate weighs 11.5 kg. I have attached BOM drawings for your review.

Regarding freight, it would actually be more expensive to send together as both they could not be sent via the cheaper system, whereas separately the Gear & Transfer plate could be, thus saving expenses. Furthermore the freight charge for the plates that can be ordered directly via our web site are largely subsidized by us.

There is no welding or drilling involved in assembly. They are bolted onto the original vehicle holes.

Best regards,

Happy New Year J
