No good place to put this, so I thought possibly the frequenters of this section may have some leads.

I’ve casually been on the hunt for a white crew cab 4x4 Hiace with a 1KZ. Looked over a few and had a few leads from customers, but nothing has worked out.

Ideally I would trade my 80 for the right one, but purchasing is probably the more feasible route. Would like to find something stateside already.

Thanks guys!

I was actually surprised to see one come on BaT a couple months ago nearby (Maryland): No Reserve: 1991 Toyota HiAce Double Cab Diesel 4WD 5-Speed - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1991-toyota-hiace-double-cab-diesel-4wd-5-speed/

And there was a red one in Virginia before that: No Reserve: 1996 Toyota HiAce Double Cab 5-Speed - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1996-toyota-hiace-18/

You don't say where you're located, but I only occasionally see Hiace vans for sale anywhere around here and was quite surprised to see those "trucks" show up in the area.

That ‘91 in the first link is pretty much exactly what I’m after, but without an “L” engine. Would prefer a “K” engine.

Don't take this is gospel, I'm by no means an expert.... I believe the Hiace/Toyoace trucks were only available with the L engines. The larger Dynas were available with other options.

Brian

1KZ was available from 08/1993-05/1997 in the HiAce platform.

I know it was available in the vans...but I have never seen one in a truck.... I would love to have one with the 1 kz-t
I've seen them in the crew cab trucks on some Japan based build threads, but they very well could have been swaps from vans. I've been trying to gain more knowledge towards the platform over the last year, but there seems to be so many different world market variants.

I'm sure an expert will chime in to help guide us all. That's one of the reasons I put this out on Mud!

I agree. I've been interested in getting a crew cab 4x4 for awhile. Have you checked out the turbo install on one in the diesel/24V section?

The downside is that there seem to be very few of them coming over to the US in the first place, so trying to get specific options is a bit of a crap shoot.

The obvious answer is to find a van with the K engine and a white double cab, buy them both, swap the engines, and sell the van. :bounce:

I have a 99’ dual cab lil dyna already stateside. 15k kms. It’s an ex fire rig however it does have power steering and air conditioning. 5L engine however.

Haven’t heard of a hiace or dyna with a 1KZ. Rather turbo a 3L than mess with a 1KZ personally.

The cab-over trucks never were fitted with a 1KZ from the factory. In the lighter duty Hiace Trucks,( also sometimes badged as Toyoaces after 95), you get the 2L engine pre 95, and a 3L after 95. We should have another one available soon for sale. DM if you'd like more info and are still searching.

If you want double cab 4WD, MT with factory K diesel, the only option is Dyna. See the specs attached. Also the best would be "Single Just Low" loading platform configuration.
Also within Dyna Truck models range you can find the full spectrum of options of cabin/loading capacity with engines displacement from 2000 to 5200cc.
