I just wanted to say HI to everyone on here. Some of you may know me from the FJ Forum and Local trail rides, but to the rest Hello. I'm not a member of the DixieLand Cruisers, but may want to be soon.

I also wanted to let you Folks in on a ride I am putting together:

Talladega Forest AL, Ride and Hike, March 7th.

See below link for info:

Thanks
jb.

Good to see you over here, Josh. DLC is just getting started so we're still in the infant stages. Don't be a stranger over here!

Thanks for posting up the ride. I won't be able to make it. March is pretty slammed for me with work and some other things.

This looks like a nice ride!

I hope it will be, I did a short pre-run with Elbert from Cullman this past sunday and everything looks good, from what we rode out. I'm hopeing for a clear day so the views will be at there best.

I am all about it if. If my truck is back in action by then.:wrench: then :steer: then :wrench: then :steer:

Would be glad to have you come. Just let me know so we can expect you. It would be nice to have a 40 along for the ride.

Got my replacement Auburn LSD for the front diff.... not sure when we will have the time to install...depends on friends work schedule. I'll go in 2wheel drive on this...you guys will just have to pull me out if we get stuck on that one hill.

You came up it fine the other day, I don't think you'll have a problem, I may have to go up it in 2wd too just to see if I can do it. :D

If I remember correctly there is another hill like that on the very south end that we did not get to the other day, but the good thing there is we will be going down it rather than up.

may have new LSD installed by then... have fingers crossed. Also have fingers crossed that this fixes the front 4wheel drive problem.

Have fingers crossed too, hope it works out for ya.

Ok...have a temp solution in place. Old birfield axle re-installed. New inner lonfield birfield axle passenger side was wrong part. Friend says I have 4wheel drive now. Will replace with new longfield axle as soon as I get replacement, but for now tmp solution works. Another friend will be going with me on the ride (John).

Figured out today that the passenger side birfield was some 2.5 inches shorter than its suppose to be, after comparing to old axle. Did not think to check this previoiusly. I guess we should have noticed this previously but maybe its a lesson learned at this point.

Enjoyed the Trail ride with you Elbert and glad you were able to get you 4x4 to working again, I hope that is all still working out well. See you on the trail again soon, jb.

Ok...

Got the correct inner longfield axle and everything appears to be working. Longfield sent me a replacement with no questions asked and provided return shipping label... so even though their screwup...he took care of it appropriatley in my mind... just wish I had known earlier but anyway now I can get around to finsihing up the wiring under the hood , getting A/C to work and doing some other things too.
