Hi all,

I had an account here for 3 years. I lost access to it because my email went dormant. Anyhow, I did a full restoration to my 94 80 series. Took 2 years, but you guys helped me a ton and I leaned a sh** load from everyone haha. Very much appreciated!
I'm looking into a LX 470. I've been eyeing them for a while and have the cash to get a decent one now, but i know nothing about them, so I am here to learn AGAIN!

Any suggestion is much appreciated!

Thank you!

What’s your budget? Is this a daily driver?

Ya, i think it'll be a daily driver. I don't drive a lot, but sometimes I travel a fair distance to see relatives. I also would like to either buy a built one, or a base 2006 or 7 and work on it like i did my LC.

I don't really have a budget per say, if I find one I like and that is in good condition I can negotiate. The ones I've been looking at around 25ish.

I saw a cool on on ebay from that euro place but I read the reviews on here lol, so that's a no go. He wanted 27. Here's a pic of it.

Or maybe I should consider something else, a LC100?

there's a lot to consider, firstly budget.
a good starting platform stock 100 series can be had for under 10k . Then budget another 5k to fully baseline and get all issues sorted.
Fully built late model like the one you showed, usually fetch in the mid to high 20k range.

If you restored an 80, a 100 is a great deal. Expect to find many things to repair/maintain.

Looks very nice. If under-armored (shielding), would make a sweet off road rock crawler.

Keep in mind a built rig like that:

You'll have reduced MPG.

If AHC removed, with that roof rack. You may have height restriction issues, entering garages. With AHC, you can lower on-the-fly with push of button.

Also parking space extended length issues, with bumpers and rear carriers.

If use more as DD and long haul:
Stock is better IMHO. Yet still good for lite off-road use.
With AHC, you get the extra lift, with push of button. To crawl over the rocks. Plus, supper high mode, when AHC in high and auto senses needed. Plus with AHC, you get added comfort and stability control in built or stock. Stock, they are so sweet for long haul HWY runs.

Daily driver fully baselined and built similar to the pictures is 30k with no rust. Tastes vary a lot and people’s opinions of what nice does as well so it’s hard to say.
