throwing a wrench in the works

So.... Here's a question I have had for quite a while. Spring rate wise, where does a stock spring set-up fall in the Light/Medium/Heavy debate? I don't normally put a lot in my 60 because it's a DD. But I do at times load it up. If I wanted to keep a similar or the closest spring rate to stock, what would I choose? Also, where would 20 yr old springs fit into that scale too?

These trucks are tough in stock form. Last summer we were putting some landscaping stones in our front yard. I loaded the full bed of my 84 sixty with rock...a pretty tall mound back there and the stock springs went only to a little below flat. I don't think it went to the stops much at all. There was a "ton" of weight back there and it handled it well. Took the rock out and the springs went back to normal just fine.

The stock springs on my 87 60 in the rear are shot as hell. The ride height of my truck is 1/4" above the bumpstops on the drivers side and 3/4" on the passenger side. Think it's time for new springs.

I was just noticing that the difference between the Dakar Light/Medium and they Heavy Duty is the addition of a leaf in each spring pack and that the leaf is available separately to convert a L/M duty to a HD setup. That said, it is easy enough to buy an HD setup and remove the extra leaf at install until a time that it is needed (which would allow for a more comfortable ride). My*60 sees some daily driver duty and won't be built out with the heavy bumpers, etc right away. Just wondering if this is a viable option or if there's something about the pre-assembled HD spring packs that make removing that extra leaf not reasonably feasable...

You are 100% on the mark... here is the catch. IF you ever plan to really add some weight (bumpers, winch, tire carrier, rack, etc). Buy the HD now, and spend 1/2 hour pulling the leaf now. Then add it back in the future. Really is is a draw... spend the extra ~$40 now... or ~$75 later (to buy two additional leaves & shipping). Take your pick :D

anyone orderd anything from these people befor?

Am I missing something???

Is their price not $1065??? How is that the cheapest?

You know what pisses me off about those guys... they use pictures of other peoples rigs without permission, and then have the nerve to lie about the parts on the rig too... WTF?

This rig belongs to Oliver Bradstreet, whom works for me and together we have built a couple of his rigs. To boot, he never had any OME products on his rig, those springs are Chev's. He put the truck on ebay years ago, and they got the pic? He emailed several times and asked that it be removed... to no avail...
