I am attempting to install a new stereo in my 1999 100 series. Got everything all hooked up and don't have power to my stereo. I am replacing my stereo because my two-year-old stuffed my stock stereo with change and I found out when I turned it on and it stopped working.

The fuse for the radio under the hood is good. But there is no power to the connection in the dash. I don't have a fuse cover for my drivers side kick panel, but I don't think there would be a second fuse there, but since I don't have a cover the research has been challenging. If someone could send me a pic of their fuse cover it would be appreciated.

If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.

Mus.

Are you just changing the HU or the amp as well? If you bypass the amp, the stock stereo gets it's power from the amp so you'll have to tie two wires together at the OEM amp location.

The driver side kick panel does not have a fuse for the radio/stereo. It does have fuse for the cigar lighter, which for some reason or another according to the wiring diagram is connected to the amp which powers the stereo. See attached wiring diagram.

The cigar fuse is a 15 amp, 2nd one below the main 40 amp power fuse on the left side.

Thanks for the name change on the post. I tried to go back and fix it and didn't have any luck. Roger on the title. Not stranded with broken stereo in driveway. Just frustrated.

My amp is definitely the source of the problem. I am not getting power to the right leads at the head unit. Both the kick panel 15A cigar fuse and the 20A Radio fuse are good. I am guessing something in my amp got fried with the stuffing of change in the head. Next question......What do I do to replace the amp. Try to hunt out a working stock amp or get a new one?

I am about to pass this off to a car stereo shop, but I am nervous given the somewhat unknown nature of my problem.
