My engine after run fan doesnt seem to turn off. How do I adjust the timing so it only stays on 10-15 minutes after driving. it used to run maybe for 30 minutes to an hour. but today, i woke up in the morning and the fan was still running, so it doesnt seem to be turning off like it used to. eeek

Also, last week the truck was left for 6 days without running, and when i returned the battery was dead. im thinking that the fan never turned off and drained the battery.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

There is a timer built into the fan control box. It cannot run more than 30-40 minutes, even if the temp sensor wire is shorted to ground (infinitely hot underhood temp). If it is running too long, the box is suspect.

crap, the fan is still running. been good solid 1.5 hours since turning off the truck. any ideas on what to do? is there something i can disconnect so the battery doesnt die again?

what exactly would need to be replaced? the whole fan/box?

Unplug the fan until you get it worked out.
