OK, I'll be the first to admit that I cant read wiring diagrams or smog plumming
A little help please??

1) Where does #1 connect on the other end? (other end not connected to anything)
2) I am sure this screw does not belong blocking this hose? connection?
3) I am sure this bolt does not belong also? connection?
3) there is a hose connection on the bottom (here) where does this connect?
.
Thanks for the help

Have you got the emissions manual? Unless someone here chimes in who has one, you're not going to get far.

#3 looks like a long tube going down to the intake? My '78 has what's called a gas valve at that approximate location. It has two connections, which could account for two of your unconnected hoses.

hope these help 1980 ca before I tore it apart !

I happen to have an un-molested 1980.

#1 goes to the left-most (forward-most) tube on a manifold on top of the EGR diaphragm/valve (the "2" is drawn on top of it in your photo).

#2 goes to the aft-most tube on the same manifold as #1 (on top of the EGR diaphragm/valve).

#3 goes back to the rear-facing port (of the same size naturally) on the same round brass-colored doo-dad that #1 comes out of.

#4 on the bottom of the red thing is just an open vent hose that hangs down the fender well to about the top of the frame.

Hope this is helpful -

You're welcome. I could try and take some pictures if you want, but you'll never see where #1 and #2 go in a photo because there are too many tubes close together all in one place on that manifold.

Do you have a diagram fro the CA Smog for the 1980?

Not sure if you are asking In2 or me, but the diagram sticker is still under the hood on my non-CA 1980 and still more-or-less legible. I will try taking a photo of it.

D'animal, the hose is fixed. It was off when I took that picture for some reason. And yes, I do drive it but not daily.

If it would help you, I can take pictures of my Federal Smog 1976 FJ40, California Smog 1977 FJ40 and my 1986 FJ60. They are all fully smogged per the FSM and pass California emmission standards.

My 1976 and 1977 do not have the HAC since they did not put them on during that era.

Well after looking this morning ...I still can not find where these (A,B and C ) connections go

Here ia a pic of the hood decal...( it also does not help..it only shows two lines comming out from A (ASV) when there are actually three)

My diagram looks the same yours, but my actual ASV is different, it only has two hoses, one small vacuum line and one larger that goes straight to the intake manifold. But like I said, my truck is not a CA truck.

Post # 55 in the link below shows my 1977 California Edition Smog emmission stuff.

Thanks Animal...
Does not look like 77 and 80 are the same...there look to be many differences.
Forest (a.k.a-Hogula) sent me a few very nice pictures of his (NEW?? 1981) And I am hoping that 80 and 81 are the same ??? Looks like the P.O has alot of hoses going to the wrong places..(from looking at Forest's pics). The rig was last regestered in 1989 and that was in AZ. Im just glad that all the Ca. crap is still there....and S. pump is working like new...

After my rework....Im sure I'll have a few more questions.....stay tuned (same Bat chanel)
