So I am trying to replace the stock VR with the VR607 Napa sold me as a replacement...I have no idea which wire goes to what so if any of you could offer some assistance, it would be appreciated...

The vr607 has 4 wires, red, black, green... all going together to a plug
and a blue wire off by itself...

What goes where??

No one knows? Okay then, what other VR replacements are there? Trying to solve this issue. TIA

If you knew the wiring schematic of the solid state regulator, then there would be no problem. No diagram included? Maybe it is supposed to be plug compatible with some known vehicle. If you know which one, that might help.

Calling the company or checking their web site might help you get a diagram.

It isn't that complicated, so guessing would work. Only 3 wires are needed: Power input to the regulator. Regulator ground. Field wire to the alternator F terminal. The 4th wire for a generic regulator would also include one to run an idiot light.

If I had to guess, red is power input, black is ground and green is the field wire, with the blue running an idiot light.

Thanks Pin Head, was actually waiting your response as I have read all searches on this matter and see your input in those...This was suppose to be the "direct replacement" for the toyota part, but neither wires nor plug are the same and like many, PO has done some mods to the wiring harness...I do have a call to the manufacturer, and awaiting their fax tomorrow morning. If not, I will go with your advice and post a follow up on what actually works...
Thanks again.
