No warning or check engine lights but brakes work but not as strong as compared to my other cars. Brakes work when I double pump my brakes while driving. Mechanic said my ABS system need to be replaced but will not change and make my brakes stronger. Plus oem ABS is 2k! Anyone had same issues and solution? Appreciate any feedback.

Trying to help you but did brakes work better before? Or you just bought this 3 ton SUV and hoping it to brake like a sports car?

Double pumping a brake pedal especially on a Land Cruiser is unusual. Start with properly bleeding the system, it’s usually pockets of air in the system that causes your brake pedal not to react and engage when you step on it the first time (feels so spongy at first and significant pressure on the second).

The 100 series should put your nose on the steering wheel when you put your foot down. Do you have a service manual? A Land Cruiser isn't the truck to try to repair/maintain using YouTube.

I don't use it often but I recall it had a bit better brake - not a whole lot. I don't expect it to brake like a GT3 but expect it similar to my ex-4runner. I'll bring to my other mechanic, brakes is one thing I don't mess around YTing it.

I'd check the front calipers for stuck pistons, Toyota 4 piston brakes are notorious for freezing up and they wont bite if they're seized. How many miles on the truck and are there rust on it?
