Hey gang,

As the topic states. I have the correct pn for the LX/LC fan belt but its just too short. I double, triple....you know checked everything. It just will not slide over that last pulley on the tensioner. Arrrrgh, its late and that is the last component before firing up the motor. I seem to remember people having problems with the supplied belt but cant find anything in search.

Has anyone seen this on the V8 TRD superchargers??

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Dave,

I had this same problem when I first did this. There are multiple belts that will fit. If you look up the s/c belt for a Tundra - it is a little bit longer and it will fit BUT what I found is that it slips with the bigger belt when you are romping on gas pedal.

You are right it is EXTREMELY tight but it does fit. - you might have to (carefully) pry it on there.

Different topic but ...

Also, I had the plastic pulley (the one that came with the kit) fall apart out in the trail one time. I drove with the truck with no belt - so no a/c, no water pump - no alternator - no s/c - basically no nothing. I drove it for 15 miles watching the temp gauge and since it was a Sunday - dealers were closed.

I now carry an extra belt (both stock & s/c belt) - another plastic pulley and the metal pulley that you had to take off when you did the s/c install. Now I can put it back to stock (bypassing the s/c) "IF" I need to - for whatever reason - just food for thought.

Thank you - those are all very good ideas and coming from real world experience. Do you have the pn from the belt your currently running?

Given the arc of operation for the tensioner. I wanted to run a belt length that leaves the tensioner in the middle or slightly tighter in that arc. That said, I dont know if the tension is the same across that arc. I need to check that.

;-)

Got Boost??

Yes!!!! This platform was made to have boost. I can only kick myself for waiting this long to put it on. I think its because I can go out in the garage and take my pick from turbocharged and tuned Toyotas and a lone STI.

Cheers all!

Dave
