Not an official event. Date is the same day of the monthly meeting next month.

Nov 7th.

The plan is to remove a transmission and replace a clutch and then head up to the meeting off 85.

As some of you might know our friend Alex has had his 40 down for some time with a bad clutch. I've been working with hime on getting all the parts to replace it. And now we can say that has been done. As well he has removed everything there is to remove to get the tranny out. All we have to do is manhandle it out of his 40 with the help of an engine hoist and my tranny jack.

I'll have all the tools required for the job. What we need is some help with turning the wrenches and making sure we don't screw up. As well if you would like to learn how to change one please come and watch. It shouldn't take long. Should being the key word.

As most of you probably know Alex was one of our past presidents of UC. He has always come and helped me wrench when I or others needed help. I'm just trying to return the favor.

Anyone want to come help?

He lives in Easley right off 85 about 5 miles south of Greenville.

Give me some directions and I may head down....

Anything for the Cuban!

I would love to learn how to change out a clutch on a 40, especially if I can screw up someone else's vehicle like I did putting a locker on JP's 62. Maybe I can return the favor and teach the Cuban how to avoid burning out the clutch . . . hey Alex, I know its's a Japanese vehicle but a 40 is not an appropriate vehicle for doing the Tokyo Drift . (Cubans!) l will bring Cigars from our cigar sponsor, Bruce's Pipe Shop, to keep the Cuban happy! (Cubans!)

This is too much fun.

See you there.

We can caravan David if you want.... I can follow you down...

Caravaning is excellent!

I'm assuming start time = early? I'll be there. Just hope the 62 handles the long drive there and back. Haven't gone that far since I started having misc. problems. At least on the way home it gets a break halfway.

I thought I planned this meeting so I wouldn't have to drive as far at least once...and I'm still driving to sleezly and back...lol...:flipoff2:

Priorities, man, priorities...

Dang

Cuban wakes up around 8:30 So I say around 9. That will give him some time to get his pants on.

Yeah, that sounds good. I guess we will need a hoist?

I have all the parts mentioned on SOR for a clutch replacement, including a refinished flywheel. Currently I have the drive shafts off, seats removed, console removed, tranny tunnel removed, heater removed and ebrake disconnected.

Anything else we need?

Thanks to everyone

Who came out to help install the clutch:
Marshal, Alan, David, Todd, Jay, Chuckster, J-Bo and of course "CLUTCH"

I have forgotten how much fun it is to have a wrenching party. I'm sure that Troll has taken some compromising photos and, when he gets his pasty, soft, white self out of bed on Sunday he'll post photos here and in some secret location in his bathroom.

Thanks again!

Alex the Cuban

Clutch.... what ever happened to the old girl? Did anyone claim her, or did you drop her off in Steve's backyard so she'd have a home???

Good times!

Nice pic. When I got home I realized I had taken a giant glob of grease with me. It was all over the seat of the cruiser.

Hey Marshall, you seem to have something growing around your head there, looks like it might be a problem. Always said he'd eventually turn into a 40. Wow that's one messed up transformer. So that's the troll that makes my tranny work when I shift gears... That's all the captions I got
