What do these (red) #s mean and what do they usually relate to as far as repairs?

I get a headache looking at the data because it isn't readily interpretable. If the red numbers are CO, it means that it is running rich. The kind of things that might make it run rich are:

1. Clogged air cleaner.
2. Choke partially on.
3. Power valve stuck on (If you have one; it isn't clear what year this is)
4. Main jets too large.
5. Slow jets (aka air correction tubes) too small
6. Float level too high.

Fiddling with the idle mixture screw probably won't fix it as it has little effect above idle.

No.

Rich condition predominantly gives under oxidized carbon, CO because there isn't enough oxygen.

HC comes from unburned fuel (as opposed to under burned), such as from misfiring or leaking past the exhaust valve during the compression stroke.

OK.....Would this make a differance?
Had a local shop do a tune-up (due to lack of time)(I know!!) seems that they set the timming 7' ATDC...Bozo's
I put a rebuilt carb on her (rebuilt by?? got it here on Mud)...she runs pretty well....but along with replacing some missing hoses....Im thinking the carb is suspect. (Damn she runs so smooth)

Yea, tuning it up would be a good idea. You have to do something. I'm not sure what the retarded timing would do, but it can't be good. If one of the hoses operates a power valve (depending on year) then that would explain it. The PV needs a vacuum to close it and lean out the mix. I'm not sure when they stopped having external vacuum control of the power valve, but it was sometime around 80. They apeared in some time around 75. Jim C would know. I'm too lazy to look it up. If it is an 1980, having a good catalyst can be a band aid for marginal CO and HC problems.

The year is -April of 1980

The timming along with a couple hoses I have found missing I hope is some of the problem.
1)Hose that bibs off the intake manifold is inop/plugged and hose is missing
2) hose closest to the firewall from the charcoal canister is also missing

It won't pass smog in CA if that stuff is plugged or missing unless the tech is either bribed or not looking.

yes...I found that out the other day. He was the one who pointed out a couple missing things
Its been a while since I have had to deal with the California underhood spagetti. 8yrs in Wa State and the other two (1974 FJ-40 & 1986 HJ-60) both are smog worry free.
