Soooooooo, after many, MANY years of hearing about, and reading about GSMTR, I am thinking about flying in to attend the event this year!:bounce:

After a few years of coaxing from Matzell in VA, I did my first fly-in last fall to attend the BBRC's Fall Crawl....and had a blast! Roger Theurer and Todd Shirley have spent an equal amount of time telling me about GSMTR. Talked with Marshall about if a few days ago and I think I'm ready to give the East Coast another try.

I'm thinking I ought to start looking into airfares and such, so I guess I need to know first off whether there are any airports nearby, or whether I should fly in somewhere's else and hitch a ride to the event and back to the airport afterwards.

Appreciate all your input and look forwards to meeting y'all in May.:)

Southwest Airlines, Nashville Int'l airport is your best bet if you are near one that services SWA. The park is about an hour and a half interstate driving outside Nashville, and that is the largest airport in the area. Hope this helps, and hope to see you there!

Mark it was good talking to yout tonight. Looking forward to meeting you at GSMTR.

Likewise Marshall. Flying into Atlanta sounds like it could be a LOT of fun. Hope to hear from the hendog soon.:bounce:

Update:

I am looking at flying into Atlanta on Sunday the 15th and attending GSMTR, flying back out of Atlanta on Monday the 23rd.

Might need a ride to and from the airport.

I have an offer from my friend Hendog of a place to crash and rides to and from the event. :bounce:

Might need to borrow some camping gear.

I WILL be bringing my guitar!

I'm thinking I'd like to go see the ACC and UC shops while I'm in the area. Any other suggestions on possible pre-event get togethers or places to see while I'm in the ATL area would be appreciated. I did that when I flew into VA last Sept for Fall Crawl and it worked out very well.:)

I think this is gonna be fun!:bounce:

TICKETS HAVE BEEN BOOKED!:bounce::bounce::bounce:
