Posting here since it's not directly related to any specific Cruiser series.

Right now I just have a hose line venting this peice, but I would like to know what this is for and if I have to have it hooked up elsewhere. I have the PCV line in place which is below and to the left of this part.

I'm pretty sure that's where the charcoal canister hooks up.

I don't recognize it. On mine, the 2 large ports are 1 in front for PCV and 1 in the rear for the brake booster. I have 2 other small ports, 1 for dizzy vac advance & 1 for the choke brake.

Definatly a vacuum source for something

I believe that one could be for the distributor. IIRC, in the 70’s they started to switch to ported vacuum (above the throttle plates) for the distributors.

OK, I got an older book out and it does show it is for the distributor. Since these carburetors were so interchangeable, it sort of does depend what it is used with. If the distributor is really old, then they got full vacuum from the bottom of the carb to pull in the advance, not the more gradual ported vacuum for the later distributors.

No vacuum being pulled by it at idle or at high rev. Obviously made to accept a larger hose and plug into something...maybe vent the fuel bowl to the charcoal canister like Doughboy said? Without vacuum is almost seems pointless and I wonder if I should just leave it open like I have been or plug it off. I was hoping for a "oh yeah...that's the xxxx that plugs into the xxxx", but no such luck yet. Thanks for the input so far.

***SOLVED*** Edelbrock emailed me back and it is a fuel bowl vent tube.

Thanks again all

I recommend you don't plug it then ;).
