My FJ62 has a number of (period) mods that make me think it was owned by a forum member. A brake swap, H55, etc. This is great, but I have no idea what parts to order when I want to fix something. I’ve got fading brakes, and I’d like to pop new pads in while I’ve got the wheels off to bleed and flush the brakes. Can ya’ll help me ID the calipers, brake master, and brake booster?

This is the relevant text from the seller:

“T-100 front brake conversion”

Doesn’t help on year, parts to order, etc.

There were only six model years of T100 (1993 - 1998); easily possible that they could have used the same brakes for all that time, but I don't know for sure.

I don't see any stampings at all, I took photos from every angle, do you know where they are supposed to be stamped?

Spike Strip: This looks like exactly the swap I've got, that is super helpful thank you. What do you think about the master cylinder? I notice mine doesn't have a sensor running to it at all, not in the res and not in the cap, but there is what I imagine is an after market cap in that photo (because the res has 1/4 turn "threads" in it) so I imagine I'll find the switch somewhere just jumped out.

Any ideas which model it is?

Then, the issue for me was brake fade, only really noticeable after driving for about an hour, and honestly really not using the brakes that much during, except some stop and go later in the drive. At the end of the drive, I end up with the pedal at the floor and very little brake effect, but when I start out the pedal feels good. I race motorcycles and passing under braking is my move, I like a very firm lever/pedal and I have good feel for what the tires are doing... after a long drive these feel like there is air in the system, but at the beginning they feel good. I do notice some drag when just spinning the wheels, could be some excess drag is causing the brakes to slowly heat.

I bled and flushed the brakes with DOT4, we'll see if that helps. Rotors might be glazed, I'm looking at replacing the pads and rotors to make a fresh start. There are still drums on the back, thinking about swapping those out as well.

@MarkMarine

That MC and Booster are some aftermarket flavor and I don't recognize them. The booster looks like a City Racer one, but no way to tell from the picture.

If you like a firm pedal, a 1" MC is a good choice. I don't know the size of your current MC. I posted the Aisin part # in my thread for the OEM T-100 unit.

Hard to say what is causing your brake fade - Can be brake fluid boiling, pads glazed or over heating... Rear drums are fine when working properly and properly adjusted. Just remember if you swap the rears to disc you loose your E-brake.

FJ62s have a proportioning valve that's different from the FJ60s. I'm not familiar with it, but there are threads on it.
