I just picked up a 2000 Land Cruiser as a project car. It has a big oil leak. I think it's coming from the oil pan. It looks like it coming out just below the harmonic balancer. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you

Don’t think it’s the pan. You can see a large amount of it above the oil pan lip. Best advice is to clean it off and monitor to see where it comes from.

2000? Project car?
How many miles on it? And has the timing belt been done lately?
Get into the front cover and look for the oil leak and the crank seal.

If you pull the plastic inner wheel well liners you can get a good look at the exhaust manifolds and the bottom portions of the valve covers. I suspect valve cover gaskets for one.

It's salvage from Copart with 178k, it's pretty rough. From what I can tell on CarFax and Lexus Service history, TB was done at 75k in August of '08. There is no sticker. I ordered an AISIN TB kit and an AISIN seal kit with Cam and Crankshaft seals. Once those arrive I will remove the covers.
It looked like the oil pan was leaking, but now I think it's coming from above it.
