So I bought a silicone hose kit from HPS, figured now's the time since my truck's apart for the rebuild anyway. I know where 5 out of the 6 hoses go but cannot figure out where this last one goes. Here's the kit:

I've done the heater hoses and the small one that goes to the oil filter housing:

And of course the large radiator hoses are a no brainer, but I cannot find a home for this one:

It's on the bottom right of the first pic in this post as well. The only other coolant hose I found was this super short one, above the pulley in the following pic:

Seems like that one should be replaced since everything else is, but the leftover hose is much longer and bent to fit "somewhere". No instructions with the kit or on their website, of course...

Found the answer on the 4runner forum...it comes out the rear side of the oil filter housing and routes to the driver side engine block right behind the AC compressor. Gonna be a bizz-nitch to get to the clamp, pics of the install and my bloody hand later...

@z00t3ch - The shop I paid to swap my hoses and radiator gave me that one back because they couldn't figure it out either.

Good on you for finding the spot! Thanks!

Definitely post pics when you get it installed if you get a chance!

You say it comes out of the oil filter housing, but this is not an oil line right? Just coolant routing through there?

I just looked that kit up. Those are some pretty pricey hoses!

Did you pay $200 or find thrm somewhere cheaper?

Are they the thicker quality silicone hoses?

I've seen a few Chinese offerings over the years for different vehicles that were about as robust as women's pantyhose.

Paid $190 from Amazon. If you add up the cost of the OEM rubber hoses (all six), it comes to about half that anyway. Because of my accident with the deer, I have unimpeded access to all the places these hoses go and all my coolant is drained already for the new radiator, so I figured what the heck. HPS makes good hoses, I've used their intake tubing for some bobber and cafe' racer builds.

Off topic - here's a CB750 I built.
What kind of cafe racer do you have?

Beautiful! Lot of work in that bike, if the uninitiated only knew...!!!

I don't have a cafe personally, I build bobbers and cafes for a living. Here's a small sample of my work:

Wow! Those are really nice. Attention to detail no doubt.

Thanks! I'm also a powder coater, that SeaFoam & Copper C50 is 100% powder, only a few small plastic bits got paint. That VLX is my personal bobber, replacing the C50 I sold to buy my bagger. The VLX is slowly going back together after a 100% disassembly (minus the motor, just covers on that) to advertise my powder coating. The fender is a 4-stage color I developed I call "Ginger Ale".

That C50 is beautiful!

I wish I had access to powder equipment and an oven that could fit my bumpers and sliders. The simplicity of a rattle can is nice but powder coating just looks so much better and it really is extremely durable.

I built my oven myself for $700. The gun I use is <$200. The big hurdle is at least 100sq/ft dedicated to a perpetual mess...

Best pic I could get, while I can still get it...
