Help Deciding on an 03-07 Diesel LandCruiser

Hello all!! I have been abroad for a while. Miss my 89 FJ62 at home. I am overseas in Finland. I am looking at 2003 models 3.0 D4Ds. I have seen later models, earlier ones etc etc. I have 2 small kids so it must be as reliable as I can get. I am looking for a Diesel with a Manual Trans over here. I am going nuts looking. Should I look out for something in the say 2003-2007 period or anything around that.. I know a Diesel will last longer... But about the trannys. Does anyone have any feedback for manuals vs. autos behind the 3.0 Diesel. Thank you all in advance, Graham

Any feedback on their late 90s to mid 2000 diesel would greatly be appreciated. Auto or manual??? What holds up better guys? Thank, Graham

Both are very durable. I wouldn't hesitate on either based on your preference driving.

Thank you!! I am just so lost in this decision process. I can get a 2002 D4D with 200K kms for the same as a 2003 with 280Kms on average.. Is the new design worth almost 100K to be 1 year newer? Thanks guys
