Elbert is dead on

All you need is a bill of sale, and proof of insurance, both with VIN

I drove mine from Sacramento to KS that way

you cannot let a stinkin' detail like that stop a smokin deal

Make certain that it runs good.

I bought a California rig and drove it home with a bill of sale and signed title. THe tags stayed on it. Rust free is great and what attracted me to it. BUT, I was told it had an exhaust leak...no big deal, right? When I to there is was running rough as a cob; once I got it home I found almost NO compression on one cylinder because of a burnt exhaust valve. It was about 1200 miles of hell. The "unknown" factor really got to me the first day; took a lot of gin and tonic that first night. Tennessee is even farther. Make certain that it is running good or have it delivered by a carrier. Considering the cost of airfare, gas, motels and road food I bet that the cost would be about the same. If you go, be prepared for an adventure. There is a reason that most cruisers are sold and a lot of times it is because the owners are not up to getting the repairs done. Sorry to be negative...you will really enjoy the 60!
