Hi there, Luke here from Down Under.
After much research and some trepidation about doing this job, I attempted to drain and fill my 2003 2UZFe Cruiser equipped with the 5 speed A750F with dipstick.
In short, I followed the dipstick procedure recommended by Toyota after I called them just to double check about fluid level check temps.
They suggested to just use the dipstick level as a guide when COLD and also when HOT (at operating temperature??)
I may have overfilled after draining out 2.3 litres (warm fluid)???
I put back in the same amount and ran it through the transmission Park > Low > Park - 3 x through.
I checked the dipstick level and it sat just above the top mark on COLD.
I then went out driving to bring vehicle to operating temps to check fluid level at HOT on the dipstick...
At approximately 80 km/hr I accelerated to get the transmission to change back to 4th gear AND then complete loss of power.
Nothing...
The A/T temp warning, battery light & Engine warning lights came on and the car stopped.
No power steering, no acceleration...
Limp mode I guess.
Had to get it towed home.
I've never had a problem with this car.
I did have techstream attached via OBD at various times to check ATF temp LIVE.
Once home. I ran techstream Health Check diagnostics and got an ABS DTC C1340 and 2 x calibration codes under ENGINE & ECT 36031100 & 56011300.
The vehicle will start but then stalls after a few seconds.
I'm gutted.
I would be most grateful if anyone could shed some light on my dilemma
PS: I have highlighted things which I did which could have influenced the operation of the vehicle.
But would make it lose all power and stall?
Thanking you in advance.
Cheers Luke
