I have an older 65lb dog that loves car rides...problem is, I can't easily lift him into my new (to me) 2013 double cab Tundra. Tried a folding step stool, which was a bust. There are plenty of products for getting dogs into the bed of a truck, but that's not what we need. He needs to be in the back seat of the cab.

Trying to think up a way to mount some pull-out stairs, or a small ramp, under the chassis (kinda like what's on some RVs, or u-haul trucks).

Has anyone found a solution for a similar situation? Any suggestions are appreciated!

ETA - even mounting a hitch under the chassis, below the back door, would allow me to use a dog step like this...just now sure if mounting a hitch on the side is even an option??

Can he make the first step into the truck? I put down the small seat and it’s two jumps for him. 10 years old and 55+ pounds.

I park next to a curb whenever possible to give him a bit of help.

That's a good idea, will try that. Still need a way to help him from the ground to truck floor, but lifting the seat will definitely give him more clearance! PS-cute pup!

A box of some sort as the first step. You can just store it on the floor.
