Great article...the only thing I wish they did was a bit of a comparison...as in do a test on a winch, etc. They were very fond of the National Luna system and I have heard great things about it. My only concern with it has been its' limited amperage rating (continuous). I am wondering how that would impact things on a recovery. It looks like I got my issue here in Hong Kong before some folks in California...

Cheers.

Hi Mark,

How did you know? We are currently working on a winch test. Not for testing battery switches, but we are actually testing winches.

They were very fond of the National Luna system and I have heard great things about it. My only concern with it has been its' limited amperage rating (continuous). Yes, that is why I mentioned that our only wish for the NL product was an option for a higher current rating. For winching, I did recommend some system configurations that will be reliable for combining batteries using an appropriately rated switch (like the Slee installation). For single-battery winch operation, the National Luna could still be used, you would just need to make sure the winch current did not run through it. Therefore, you could use a battery for winching, and if it became depleted, you could switch to the other battery (when the winch is not on).
