Just purchased an '05. First mods gonna be tires. I need some suggestions. When I push the AHC button my dash light just blinks but the truck doesn't raise or lower. I want to run bigger tires than stock but still maintain a stock ride. Should I go with a lift or stay with oem parts? Plan to ditch the AHC. What's some good possible suspension combinations I can go with? Maybe worth mentioning that my wife is 12weeks pregnant so this car would be used as a family hauler but I like the more aggressive tire setup.

First off: Welcome!!

Second: these are among the MOST asked questions on this forum. Please use the search function and you should find just about anything you would ever want to know about tires, lifts and suspension.

Third: this is a thread I started for my suspension: https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/602448-venturing-into-rarefied-air-2-body-lift.html
You can use this as a starter, but you may not want to go as big as I did.:D

Forth: There's a lot of wise people to be able to tap into on this forum and wise-arses too. Take your time, and enjoy, you will learn a lot! :)

Be sure all your doors are closed when adjusting ahc or it will just blink.

Congrats on the purchase! Welcome to the Club. I don't have AHC so I can't help you with that. Plenty of info on the site though to assist you in making informed decisions about all of the above.

What the heck did anyone do before the internet....

Fricking amazing, solved a major system problem with a few 1's and 0's

They probably read the manual ;)

This..

Also, just checking you are hitting the AHC button while parked not while on the move.

AHC (at least in my truck) works on the move (under 19mph) and without the parking break engaged.

I'll have to check the manual ;), but that's correct on high, but I think on low it only works when parked. The OP was asking about high and low.

you are right. it does not work with low when moving. I like putting it on high when i park in lots or valet. That way, if i come back to my car, and its in N, i know they went over 19 mph, so then i can ask "where did you go"

Mine will go into low irrelevant of being in park or the parking brake so long as I'm under 19 mph.

To the OP... I'd suggest you get a hang of AHC before gutting it unless you have grand plans for lots of additional static weight (armor). AHC to me is priceless for my 2yr old daughter and family at the moment - especially with larger tires. My wife has a much easier time lifting my daughter in when she was younger, and now it allows my daughter to climb in on her own.

Gee. Never thought of that. This is what you'll never find in the manual.

its a good little use of the ahc. If you are in Frederick, you need to check out CLCC(capital land cruiser club) in the club section. Come along, 100s are scarce.

Welcome! I suggest you keep the AHC for a few years. I'm in the same boat as you, my wife is 21 weeks pregnant. I just purchased my '04 and plan to keep the AHC until my kids are able to climb in on there own.

Hi and welcome!

You may consider all-terrain tires like BFG's, Nitto's, etc which have a more aggressive look but not sacrificing comfort are great for highway and light offloading.
