4 Link Kit (Toyota 8") - HellFire Fabworks

Alright all ready! We purchased Hellfire Fab 2 years ago and thought it would be an easy transition doing the mods it took to make them perfect. I could not have been so far from the truth!

We have had a ton of problems with design changes and machine shops but have fought through it for long enough. They are ready!

Some of the changes have been simple, some have been seriously challenging, some have required designing completely new tools to get the job done and keep the cost under control. Whatever it took we pressed on and finally came to the conclusion we wanted!

These are better than the factory knuckles by more than a little! Substantially stronger and a high steer that works with 6 stud retention. Those 6 studs are also much stronger than stock and easier to find if you break one because they are Dana 60 studs. Stronger and less expensive! All come with a 25mm bearing upgrade. Tapered for FJ80 TRE's so they are easy to taper out to a GM 1 ton TRE or drill out for heim steering. Set screw shimless preload adjustment. Lower cap with countersunk bolts.

The lower caps will be welded Monday morning and shipping will commence Monday afternoon! We have 82 people on the list and I'm sure some have decided to go another route after we kept them waiting so long but all spots will be served in the order received. We are getting these at the rate of 16 pair a week from the machinist and the next set of castings have already been ordered but give us a call asap to get yours!

I had no idea.....

Does this render mine from Billy's last batch serving no more purpose than paperweights?

Better, can you explain what improvements are there have been?

Hot Snot!!! I was actually cruising the site a week or so ago trying to decide what ever came of these. Pure Sex! When it comes time for a WonTon build, I know where to go.

No they are not but you will be challenged to use them with heim steering. Give us a call if that was your intention.

There have been many small improvements but mainly to the casting itself, fixturing, & machining. Of the knuckles themselves the switch to D60 studs is both a strength improvement and a major cost savings. The new arms are more standardized and accept both TRE's and Heims. The bearings are now 25mm and these come with new bottom caps and trunnions are also included. Ive go more but I have to run so more tomorrow. If you are in a hurry give us a call.

If you are on the list you got an email yesterday, please respond if you still want these and we will let you know when your number comes up, we can only machine about 16 pair a week.

Thanks, Dan.

I'm just now dusting off the parts as they're bound for fabricator that's building the rock donkey Cruiser, now year four in the making.

He's already a RS account/customer, so will defer to him on useability of existing and/or ordering replacements, although steering was discussed a concern, early on in planning.

Not relevant, but dusting off the full width RS housings she'll be rolling on, too. :)

(FJ wasn't my error, either....)

Works with stock steering setup?? Curious if this ditches the lower steering arm or if we keep those plus get the 25mm trunions

Not quite.

Curious if this ditches the lower steering arm

The steering arm on the HF knuckles is on top, hence high steer.

Don't have pics on phone, but @jcardona1 sound have a thread that shows the first generation and issues associated with, that RS appears to have corrected.

On mine, have inserts to weld in for TREs, which was only way it could be figured to be done, in early discussions.

Don't know that there's anything wrong with that, because heims are race car parts and damn sure make race car noises, plus an OE configured front suspension wouldn't benefit from anyway.

That's all IF I understood your question directly, not that I'm anything more than an RS fan boy in inventory only.....but won't be long before that changes, I hope.

Dan,

Thank goodness you have these in your stable now. I have been trying to get a set for my rig for 4 years :)

Make me an offer, as I've a long ways to go before I'll need.

(Edited: before the naysaying....

Not crapping on RS' thread, since mine are the last of Billy's, which aren't the improved, but were set up for (inserts can be welded) for OE or GM TREs.

As well, I couldn't agree more with SoCal on stability, BUT, in Billy's defense, he spent a lot of time and money to make this happen, because he's an enthusiast with a full time job, NOT an astute, established business like Dan's operation.

Either way, when I started acquisition for my project, I knew that it'd have both RS housings and HF knuckles, not only because I feel they're the best choice (in case of knuckles, the only that are 'kinda' Toyota) but as a matter of pride since both support this small community, when there's way more money in 'domestic' POS'.

Give us a call before you sell those... We've got you covered ;)
