I have a 1974 FJ40, 305V8, HEI, yellow top optima, 10si alternator. when i try and start the truck the voltage on the ignition wire drops from 14 to 10v and thats not enough to start the HEI. if i jump the HEI direct from the battery it fires right up. whats the deal with this and how can i fix it? Thanks.

i have the power lead coming off of te ignition wire black and yellow i think, i checked the voltage at the ignition switch and it drops to like 10v. Where is the bllast resistor? Whats it look like?
