Decided I needed a stronger door for my workshop, so went on the path to build my own.

Material list:

Frame/Jamb: 5x3x1/4 Angle and 3x1 11 Gauge Rectangular Tube
Door Swing: 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 11 Gauge Square Tube

After purchasing some steel and welding and cutting help from a friend, this is where we stand now:

Ready to tack weld, checkfor sqaureness again, then run full beads

Angle iron welded up, hinges tack weleded on to test the door swing

Door Jamb - 11 Gauge rectangular tube. Used a step drill to make the holes large enough to fit a socket for anchor bolts, 1.125 hole

Exterior and Interior Door Frame (the middle was bowing in about 5/16, so used the spreader for now. Anchor bolts will self correct in doorway)

looking good. what gauge steel are you planning to use for the door itself?

having heard about you, I presume you won't be sharing the integral intruder deterrents on this open forum. ;)

and please forgive my ignorance, but the holes in the tubing are for mounting the doorframe to the building, yes? no need to answer if it involves the above....

tweakers and zombies beware!

Dang. So what do you have for windows and walls?
