Dog barn/workshop

Today was the last day for general contractor work on the barn. Water was hooked up, interior walls closed up and electric completed.

Landscaping complete as well.

The kids got new beds after a short outbreak of stress induced diarrhea. They appear to be over that now.

Left to do is the garage door opener, exercise yard and filling the space with stuff. Bought the fixins for a dog bath tub.

Now for some new shelves and benches

Nothing is really in its final resting place yet. And everything so far is either reused or recycled. Been collecting scrap wood from construction for all of this. Even reclaimed nails and wood from construction trash

Got a couple donated couches and picked up a utility sink and small water heater from Lowe's. I use Lowe's to socialize dogs, so the folks there did a special discount on a 5x10 kennel for $100.

I forgot all about this thread, but I just finished some improvements so your reminder is well timed.

We've had over 40 guests to the bark barn this year. Recently the noise has become too much, so we triple insulated the walls and built kennels with tempered glass doors from the Habitat for Humanity restore.

We can keep up to 7 dogs at a time, which is plenty.

We are using the shop portion to restore a 1938 Ford panel van hot rod that used to be a dog catchers van for more high speed dog rescue.

The work you all do it awesome! That Van is killer, whats the plan resto mod, full restore, promotional vehicle?

Bought it with a bad transmission but a friend had an engine trans combo out of a 50 Chevy pickup rod.

We are pulling the good transmission and putting it on my nearly stock 350, since his 350 is built and not streetable.

The engine will then go to a guy who is helping me
