My '71 40 is without heater stuff. I will be moving to Missouri soon and I feel that the heater will probably be a necessity for at least three months of the year. I could just garage it for that amount of time and not drive it but that would be no fun.

It has none of the heater stuff in it. Someone offered to sell me the blower motor and heater core box and the hoses between them for 75 plus shipping. I feel this is a very fair price. My main concern is will the stuff he's offering from 76-83 40's fit in my 71? He also does not have the defrost hoses, but I feel I could rig something for that.

This forum and everyone on it has been so helpful. Hopefully one day I can add stuff back. Until then thanks a lot.

The blower motor and heater core should fit. You may have to disconnect and/or remove the linkage for the stock cowl vent and not all the holes on the firewall may match for the heater core.

This is all assuming that no one has modified your '71 when they removed the heater and blower.

Just get one of these from JCW (always wanted to try one) stock system is gigantic w/the huge blower in the engine compartment and the big heat exchanger in the cab area and they are not that efficient anyway.

I have a heater box/motor assembly w/ cowel that came out of 69 fj40. Everything is the same as my 71 fj40's. If you'd like I can take a pict of it all. I'd be willing to sell it. It worked fine, my buddy just didn't need a heater anymore:rolleyes:
