heated seats..... ouch!!! (1 Viewer)

So there i was..driving down the road in my 97 LC when i noticed a smell, then suddenly my back was getting scorched!! Literally, I had a red mark on my back. For some reason my heated seats got a little too hot and could have caused some serious burns. I looked down in my fuse box and noticed one of the wires that as connected and reconnected must be the cause so i disconnected it. I will get it checked out, but just wanted to know if any of you had ever experienced this before.

I didnt even know 80 series LCs came with heated seats. Maybe you mean the 100 series?

I have heard about that in Jeep Grand Cherokees but never in a Toyota. I guess there must be some kind of overheating thermostat safety switch in the seat that has gone bad.

He didn't say his 80 series came with heated seats from the factory. Also, '97 LC is not a 100 series.

JDM models have optional seat heaters. My buddie has one.
