There will be a link in there for the factory manual, although I'm not sure if it can tell you if you can swap out the two types of lights. But it's a start!

If you swap out with the non-AFS headlights you will get an error on the dash. Sorry..not aware of a defeat option. I think there are some 3rd party halogen replacements but again... it will present an error if I recall.
The only retrofits I have seen are those that goto '14+ solutions on '10-'13 models for headlights, grille, etc.
At the moment and I could be wrong I don't remember a direct AFS conversion to LED with those '14+ solutions. A few that went '14+ had to keep the AFS components plugged in to keep errors off.
In your case... perhaps go halogen but keep the AFS related components plugged in so no errors. This is all pulling out of mine and memory... you'd have to look at the wiring diagrams on this site..... sounds like you may be short of time for a quick solution other than just replacing the AFS unit. Perhaps look at salvage yards and eBay?
