I'm trying to replace a headlight washer bottle and pump on my daughters FJ60. When I bought the truck the original pump and bottle were missing. I bought a pump off of eBay and a bottle from Rust Farmers. I'm guessing this is the wiring plug for that on my truck.

Trouble is that the pump colors match but the plug does not.

Does anyone know where I can buy either the round style male plug to fit this?

Or the female style square plug to fit this?

Thank you

Do you have the spray nozzles below the headlights? Early model FJ60 didn’t have headlight washers.

You can verify a likely plug by connecting a volt meter to the contacts (don’t short them) then turning on the headlights and then push the windshield washer button on the steering wheel stalk.

If it’s the correct plug, you’ll see 12V in that plug when pushing the sprayer button.

Headlights have to be on to use the headlight washers.

Yes, I have a 1984 and all of the hoses, nozzles, and restrictors are in place. It just looks like the pump motor I bought has a different 2 pin connector on it. The wire colors and gauge match. I have looked at a few pictures and it appears there are pictures with both styles. But you make a good point to check out voltage first. Thank you

better if you can find a square connector for it so it can fit the ones with square.

hope this helps

Hey Buddy, thanks for the reply. I hated having to do it. I bought another one off eBay with right end even though the outer case of the pump was all rusted, just for the end.

Perhaps you simply need the correct OEM TOYOTA Japan Spec. Connector Plugs ?

I just came across your thread. I had this exact same issue on my 1984 60 last week and thought I was going crazy. Ended up splicing a square end connector from an old motor on to the new motor and it works. (Now, I have to fix a cracked check valve and probably other things…). Nice to know I’m not the only one who struggled to find a solution on this one.

Do you have a wire harness repair kit available? I need a round to square adapter to connect my reservoir motor.

hi

the OLDER square pump motor and wire gauge was much smaller and thinner ,

less amp draw Motor

-

later round plug has MUCH thicker gauge wire , much more AMP draw pump motor ...

do you follow me here ?

which pump motor do you have ?

i have seen some part of a kit that only references a aftermarket pump motor , they don's or address the transition from the square plug to round like i do above

my inital thoughts are you would HAVE TO bring both the RED Wire w/ yellow tracer stripe and its white wire / black tracer stripe , HOME RUN the 12ga all the way to its end location .....

i will not ever simply be offering a back and forth adapter , i have thought about it ?

but my formal T-TEN teaching's , tell me to run the #'s on paper , its too far off to get by ....

do you follow what im saying here ?

- i have dove deep into this broad brush topic and learned WHY the original bottle failed and why the 1st gen pump was weak and feeble too ....

- i feel that before i start a formal lecture on this i would out of professional courtesy invite @therustfarmer to take part in this group discussion

that is HIS bottle in GHOST , and its at least 3+ times thicker then the orininal was

super high quality reproduction part in every way !

lastly ,

so far i have come across 4 different OEM PARTS MAKER pump motors , 2 for the early square plug , 2 for the later round plug ,

that fact is DAM ODD ?

just hang tite here , i only speak the FSM facts as you know , and i have concluded the high amp draw on thin thin wires is the way to update / upgrade a older FJ60 is rolling the dice for a BAD Scenario
