Sweet! This certainly solves all my qualms with wanting to pull the trigger…

I went with HID’s from DDM Tuning and have no regrets. Here’s my thread on it:

Well below $300 and they’re still working fine. DDM also provides a lifetime warranty which I’ve utilized more than once on another vehicle of mine. If you’re on a budget you might check them out.

Side note, you might consider wrapping the new lenses with Expel vinyl to protect them long term. I *think* they offer clear wrap that protects against UV, but I’ve never messed with it. I’ve just used the 3M refinishing kits when my lenses started getting cloudy.

Did you only upgrade the lights in the projector? Or have you upgraded the brights as well? I think it would drive me crazy if I had separate colors depending on AFS low beam vs reflector high beam.

Sweet! This certainly solves all my qualms with wanting to pull the trigger. Admittedly, I am just buying some crappy lenses off of Amazon for ~$80. I am not thinking they'll be incredible quantity, but my current ones are so yellow, cracked, and fogged over. They're just toast!! I am currently debating paint/clear on some of the inner pieces since I will have the housing open. I may come back to this thread soon, as I still am a little uncertain on what HID bulbs/ballasts I need to get. Lighting is new to me.

I am no technical savant, but I think I am capable of this project. I do intend to try and document it decently well, as it seems it could be beneficial and encouraging to our community. Especially as more of these cars age with the yellow plastic! It is somewhat disappointing to see how expensive some of the upgrades are for these lights. I am hopeful to say someone could do this for under $300, all in, though I think it will come out to slightly above that. (lens, bulbs, butyl rubber, ballasts, clear coat, and maybe spray paint?)
My thread may help ya in the future. Truthfully, I wouldn't consider most of this thread a "retrofit" since there's really no modification required, just a bulb swap. If you truly want great output, look into proper Bi-xenon or Bi-LED projector retrofits.

I’ve actually been scouting this thread for weeks. What you’ve accomplished with bi-xenon is great! Truthfully I’m just so new to headlights and the process, that I’m not sure I should undertake it to that level. My biggest concerns would be: what parts I need to buy, overall cost increase (how much did new shrouds and rx350 projectors cost?) and the inability to replace with new housings if I mess up my headlight somehow. The 4 bolt modification to get the 2nd projector in looks like there is room for error that I’m not sure I should follow through with.

I can definitely understand the hesitation. The second projector is not for beginners but just to show what's possible.

Cost would depend on HID vs LED. I'd be happy to put together a bundle of everything you'd need and price it out for ya. I'm a dealer across most major brands. It would likely add 300-350 but output is significantly better (and it's really the only good way to do so).

The funny thing is my current lens are so bad that even just swapping those out would give me 30-40% of my light back!

Just not sure that extra $ is in the cards currently, nor am I sure if the wife would let me do it. If something comes up can I message you on here to get that package?

Very true!

I get that, it's a slippery slope because once you retrofit headlights in one vehicle, your others have to be soon to follow ha. Always welcome to shoot me a message or check out my IG @rigid_retrofits_llc if you're on instagram.
