I need to rebuild my headlights and the holders and rings and buckets and all that stuff. I like to read up on things before I tackle them. Is this so basic a job that I don't need help? Or are there threads out there and I just can't find 'em?

I appreciate any help.

What are you rebuilding them on. It's pretty basic. Depending on the year, I may have nice new oem buckets and new oem rings.

@Indygbd - Sorry. Was referring to my 1970 FJ40. I think I might be missing a few parts because one of the lights is loose and wobbles around. I also see some mismatched screws.

One of the things you will be missing or will be broken by the time you get the head lights apart will be the plastic inserts for the head light adjusting screws. www.cityracerllc.com has them and the adjuster screws.

I de-rusted my buckets and other parts then powder coated them. If you need the head light sub-harnesses I can build you a new set.

I would pull the head lamps and see what your dealing with inside. Those rings looked pretty rusted.

Wasn't that pigtail a single plug at the lamp end? Have a box of head light buckets I haven't looked at in years but believe it's a plug. I'll see if I can't locate that box and check.

Thanks @Coolerman

I did buy the adjuster screws from CityRacer. They're on the way.

I'll check with you after I look at the wiring.

Above is driver side headlamp wire set. @Coolerman does your replacement come with that grommet where the wires exit the bucket?

I need more of these little screws that hold the chrome ring in place.

Need to check my 10/69 cruiser to see if it has the forks that goes to the terminal strip or the plug. Think the plug was with the 71 model. Found my box. One set with the forks. Another set of buckets have the plug. Believe they were from 71 FST I stripped the harness out of back in 1988. Was already thinking what would do if my 68's harness burned up back then.
