Hey y'all I'm heading to San Diego for 3 months for work. I'm planning on staying on Coronado Island and I will be working at North Island NAS. I haven't been to San Diego in years. Any suggestions on food, beer, things to do would be greatly appreciated.

Crockpot 2.0 will be staying at uncle @GLTHFJ60 house while I'm gone. Also if anyone wants to rent my condo for a little while, I might entertain that. It's 10 mins from Atlantic Beach.

Ill shoot you some info later in the day near end of work. Congrats though, stoked it did happen for you. I'd say take the cruiser though, you'll be by more miles of dirt road than the entire south east combined.

I may fly down for a visit if I can find good flights, it's been too long.

Well my stupid management keeps dicking with my dates!! Now I'm there June 28th to July 28th. Home for 30 days then back another 30. Freaking Federal Government.

I'll take good care of your hundo either way.

There are over 100 breweries in San Diego and all of them are excellent, the area is right up at the top like parts of Nor Cal and the Denver area for large amounts of quality beer.

Some or the bigger ones are Stone, Ballast Point, Coronado, Port, Lost Abby (pretty much the king of super high ABV ales and Sours), Mikeller, etc....

Things to go and see/do

if your not taking the 100 i'll not list exploring type things

Heritage Park
Point Loma Light House
La Jolla
Balboa Park and Island
Old Town SD
The Wild Animal/Safari Park and the SD Zoo are most likely the best in the US
Torry Pines
Museum of Man
Hot Springs at Agua Caliente
Great places to Scuba Dive if you are certified
Cross the Border to TJ
Tons of amazing beaches
the lemon grove mummies

I could go on and on but that's a good start

Also go up to LA and then catch a boat over to Catalina Island

most likely can't swing a trip down there next month but if you are down in September i'll see what I can swing, or you shoot up here for labor day weekend and some camping and

I'd say that's a good idea, I'll give you the run down on open areas to explore that way also.

Couple ideas from my trips there:

Hit San Elijo State Park for a night, watch the sun set as you eat Bull Taco's from next door. They have a surfing school there, too.

Tell the fine folks at Rancho Bernardo Inn that you need the Sony partner rate for $99 and take your girlfriend there for a day/night.

Update:

Houston Texas area: June 22 to 28
San Diego area: June 28 till July 28

I already found some music I want to go see...

Sorry brother I totally spaced on out doors stuff.

For the most part hit up SoCal 80's and San Diego cruisers for all of the ideas.

But some of my favorite areas would be

Anza Borrego, Johnson Valley, Joshua Tree, Salton Sea Area, Glamis, Pretty much the entire Mojave Desert, Baja, Rowhler Flats, Red Rock Canyon, Big Bear, all the fire roads of the Angeles National Forrest and San Bernardino, Azusa Canyon..... anyone of those would keep you busy from a day up to a few weeks, well the mojave would keep you busy for years.
