Passed you twice! We drove from Charleston to Vegas and back over the break. We were in Flagstaff on the 23rd and again on the 27th. I'd hazard a guess that the blue minerals that you found are turquoise.

Wish I would of known. Would of said hey.

Few pictures from yesterday's 70 miles jaunt in the back side of the Huachuca Mountains. That was 70 miles of just offroad. Not to include the 15 to get there and 15 back.

Never know what you will find out there with no structures around for 30 miles as the crowd flys.

So. As we all know to well Life throws you curve balls.

I applied for a few new jobs with the USFS and I got one. Not the one I wanted but I got a permanent position. I tried for Uwharrie and did not get that one even with all my volunteer time and fire job. So I am completely done with that place now. Will not help there anymore but that is for a different post.

I got a job in Happy Jack AZ that is Permanent Seasonal. Work 1/2 -3/4 of the year there and run my shop for he other for the time being. I can retire from it. YES.....

Fun part is I got the job today to start in 7 days from now.... Wow.....

So. I guess I will only be a Hotshot for about a month a year now. Meh.....

But I got my foot in the door. And if I do not like it I got a job still on my Hotshot Fire crew. So that is a plus.

Will be living where it snows about 90 inches a year. And paid to ride a snowmobile.......

Congratulations man!!!!! Glad is working out. And about Uwharrie, weird stuff happens for a reason, you must be meant to be in Happy Jack AZ for something......there might be a victoria secret photoshoot crew that will need rescuing in the future, you'll see.

Congrats on the new gig Darin, I hope it opens up more new opportunities for you. It sounds like you have found a niche. :)

Congratulations Darin! Now I understand the two FB posts I saw earlier that didn't make sense. Enjoy the snow for me!

Congrats dude... when I make it down to AZ again for some exploring i'll be giving you a ring :)
