Gday everyone, doing a manual conversion on my hdj80, nearly impossible to find a manual centre console so going to modify my auto console to suit a manual shifter boot. Can anyone send me some photos of some measurements so I can figure out where I need to cut a hole and where I need to patch? Also, anyone know the material these consoles are made out of? Will be all plastic welded, filler where needed and painted. Cheers!

We just did a manual conversion on a right hand drive HDJ 81 and are looking to either get a gray right hand drive console or modify the existing one and would love to see the dimensions of the cutouts. Thank you

I’ve just pulled my auto console out and am just looking into it. Seems to be a pp/ep blend, can’t really find any sheets online to be the same blend but hoping PP plastic will be fine. Planning to cut the whole centre out, replace with the new pp sheet, hot staple it into place, may even add 2 cup holders into the new piece if there is enough room. Received my shifter boot yesterday, looks like it’s going to be a bit of a challenge to retain the boot to the console but I’m sure I’ll come up with something to make it work.
