I have (I believe) an 87 60 series brake booster in my FJ40 and I have had majore brake issues and I am down to the check valve as an issue (maybe) since i heard a slight whistle befor hte brakes tightened up.

I need the valve quickly so I am forced to go through the Toyota dealership, Kragen, Autozone, or Napa.

Does anyone know a part number I could use for the check valve for any of the above or possibly another check valve that can be used that is more common and will most likely be in stock at one of the chain parts stores?

Thanks!

The Toyota part number for the booster check valve for an 87 FJ60 booster is: 44730-22090. I would think that any check valve of similar size (tubing diameter) would work to do a test. See if you can get an inline check valve and install it in the tubing between the vacuum source and the check valve in the booster.

here's a link to the test procedure for the brake booster (including the check valve): https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/71841-brake-problems.html

thanks. I think there is a universal one that I can use to do a test on it for like 5 bucks from kragen or checker. If that is it, I'll use you part number and get an OEM. Thanks for the number and the link.

Do not get one from the chain auto stores. They did not work. The only valve that worked for me was one from the dealership.
