I've been working with my local Lexus dealer, but I keep getting the incorrect push pins/clips and I they MUST think I'm crazy by now. These are important because they keep water out.

I'm looking for these push pins/clips that cover the 4 holes (2 per side) at the rear sides (jams) of the rear hatch door:

222.webp

333.webp

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, but I've gone though 3 different types clips with no success. I've already threw away the old ones (that was dumb), so I can't back check these.

This was the most recent part number they ordered: 61617-42040 but that wasn't it.

Any idea's?

Thanks for for the reply. No previous body work and this is a low mileage, mint truck with only 70k.

I think I figured this out and will test this evening and report back. These are two piece clips. I think the larger part of the clip needs installed to the tailgate with the L/R side covers removed. Then the covers need installed and the pushpin needs installed to "crimp" the two parts together. The rubber seals make sense since they need compression to work correctly, which will happen if installed this way.

It's a small detail, but an important one. I'll circle back to confirm.

These ended up being correct. You need to first remove the left and right side reinforcement slates on each side of the upper tailgate, installed the grommets, reinstall the slates and then use the pushpins to crimp them together. Appreciate the help.
