Has anyone swapped center console arm rest lids LX to LC?

Not even sure if this is possible but the 2013 LX arm rest center console lid is pretty dumb. The sliding armrests are pretty useless and i would love to be able to swap that out of the LC upper storage lid. This one has the cool box so I’m not sure if the lids would even work. Does the LC with cool box have the top storage compartment? I have found a few lids on line but not sure compatiblity. Any info appreciated.

Interested to know this for backward compatibility myself.
The padding on the LC console armrest is pretty thin and was wondering if the LX one had better padding and if it would fit.
Amazing how the ergonomic design team didn't pay attention to the points where your elbow and forearm rests in relation to the interior and design those areas with decent padding. After a few hours of road bumps and imperfections those areas get sore from touching hard plastics.

Maybe these will help. 2013 LC. Padding is also very thin.

Does this lid open at all with any storage in the top?
Yes, that has both “lids” opened. If just the top one is opened there is a ~3” back pocket that goes across the front of the middle lid. It can’t quite hold larger sunglasses, but works well for masks or other flat things. I can’t get a picture of that until tomorrow afternoon.

The LX armrest padding is pretty sumptuous. Pad underneath has at least 1/4" give.

I had a piece of unsecured cargo slide forward in an emergency maneuver and it broke my passenger side sliding portion of the armrest. I was hoping to eventually just fabricate a lower support platform without the two sliding mechanisms and have it recovered since I also think the sliding function is silly. And the center console feels taller than the door card armrest.

It is but it’s so stupid. I can’t see how they decided they needed a sliding armrest over storage.

I hear ya. Storage is already tight in general, and not having any armrest storage would be frustrating. I don't have the console fridge in my rig and I prefer the ample storage there.

I ordered one of these

The cool box is ok, it served its purpose in the heat of summer keeping stuff cool, but I suppose a small cooler on the back seat floor would do the same.

Here's a life hack (although I cannot claim credit). Add a small drawer handle to the console tray to make it easier to remove. I personally use my cool box all the time. I leave bottled water and/or sodas in it almost all the time.

Yeah that’s it. The hump is an upper attic/pocket to give more room to the cool box. It is nice to have that above the Amazon tray everyone has.. but yes that little pocket is pretty useless.

I have had a 2010 Lc200 and 2010 lx and the top lid for the center consoles are interchangeable. The issue is matching interior colors. early models shared the same Dark Grey between makes, however if you are as unfortunate as myself to sport the cashmere in the lx, you won't find it in a LC part#.

I keep small stuff up there, like a box of mints, folding pocket knife, leatherman. But nothing too small - I discovered long ago that it is a horrible place for coins, since they slide backwards and out when the lid is opened. :)
