Has anyone installed Ford 351w EFI in your 40? I am concerned about height.

I am considering swapping my carb 302 for an EFI 351 and am concerned the height of the engine might be a problem. If you have installed one I would appreciate any insight. If you happen to have a build thread that would be great.

i doubt it would be any higher then a sbc. but since you are going to install it from scratch you can always lower the motor in the frame or use a body lift to get more room

I'm thinking I'd get out my trusty high powered tape measure and try to eyeball the differences from motor mount location to height of engine (top of intake) between the two engines???

You running the truck EFI intake or the more conventional mustang style? (big height difference between the two)

You can swap out the truck intake with the lower 5.0 intake. Most of the early bronco vendors sell the correct lower intake manifold to do this. With the 5.0 intake it should fit, but the take measure will tell the truth.

The swap is either a adapter to use the 5.0 complete intake (with an adapter) or the 5.8 lower/adapter/and the 5.0 upper.

i was thinking of putting one in my 72 fj55, because my bronco is falling apart around the the drivetrain. wanting to know how yours turns out.
