Also does anyone know if there is a constant 12V fuse that is available irrespective of the engine turned on or off?

The overhead console map light power is switched like that. It turns on when you unlock the doors and off when you lock the doors, or after 15 mins. of inactivity or something like that. Just like the door courtesy lights. It’s perfect for a dash cam, I’ve had mine hooked up that way for over a year now.

I noticed that the mirror it self has power going to it would be a good spot for Valentine One to tap off of as well.

As for the overhead console, how do you remove that overhead panel? Overhead panel removal diagram

Found a post about it...did you tap the sunroof lines?

this is how your V1 and passports, dash cams, LEDs etc should be wired.

Going on 2 years now, i tapped into the fuse of the rear wiper. No issues, didn't add a fuse, just tap the power wire to it, it barely draws any power so it won't blow a fuse or anything.

Hi @Ayune. Is that setup still working for you?
I might be missing something. We don’t want dashcam to turn off after 15 min right ?
I would like to connect from those wires too but I am confused a bit.
Can you please provide bit more clarification and possibly a picture.
I plan to use the following from Amazon and short USB wire to mini USB to connect to camera. Thanks in advance.

Setup is still working fine, yes. You don’t want the camera running 24/7 because it’ll be a drain on the battery, although how much of a drain I’m not sure. A constant drain on your battery of over 50mA isn’t great.

In my ‘98 LC, in the overhead console the green wire is +12V from the courtesy light circuit, and the black wire is ground.

Hi @GVegasG, did you use the step down module to wire your dash cam? If so, you have any pics? This looks like a great idea!
