Hardtop paint question

[hindsight]

Was the outside edge and underneath of the fiberglass cap originally painted white (to match the white top) or to match the body color.

Mine was originally white, now painted a few times over....so I can't tell.

I am by no means an expert but mine is painted white in those areas.

I believe the color matches the top...the metal rim that holds down the fiberglass I do believe would be white top and bottom to match the top and add distinction.

Yes - all the metal parts on the top were white from the factory. It makes the repainting a bit trickier, as you have to paint under that edge, or flip the top over and paint it in two operations.
