Got some fun stuff today. Thanks to Gary Coberly - check out this BLING battery hold down. I moved the battery to the back right in front of the fuel cell.

how is the Clearence with the Front D Shaft and the Tranny?? Similar to the D300 issue woody ran into?? Did you have to Chop any body under the passenger side to Clear the Clocked Atlas?

Looking Great man, i plan on going 700r4 to dana300 soon..

Had to run a 2 piece front shaft from Jesse @ High Angle driveline. Fits perfectly.

I have the late model tub so I've got tons of room underneath - once I removes the OEM fuel tank. I'm running a 15 gal RCI fuel cell in the tub.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm very happy with the result.

The rear axle is at Sunray. They are going to bust a hump to get it done ASAP. Hopefully I can pick it up beginning of next week after Austin does his magic. I saw the components that are going inside the housing (third member - 5.89 gears around a Detroit Locker, and axles - 35 spline cromolly) while I as there today. I walked a bit funny for a while  I think I will be able to realize my initial goal.

When you coming out for hammers round 2???

I'll be there the 1st ;)

Thats going to leave a mark($)

Bruce, I suggest connecting the skidplate to the xmember in a couple of places. That will give additional strength to the x member. Apparently, even 2" reciever tubing can bend under heavy abuse..

You should see the d.o.m. links that mark is using for his 4 link, and how we chopped up his rear frame to make room for his 12" coilovers :D

Missed this earlier - could you snap a pic? ed and I have been discussing this and open to ideas. Thanks

When you go to put the rods into the ID of your DOM….. Ya the ends of the joints where machined with +0 and -.0005” tolerance of the 1.250” end for the rod. Problem is DOM has a tolerance of +/- .008! Ok so you may need to open up the DOM a bit with some emery paper. All the DOM I am using seams to be over sized a bit. Next batch of Hyperjoints will slip right on the end of the DOM. Eh that’s why we do protos!

Mark

We noticed that as well... That's no big deal - like you said - that's why they're prototypes.

The more I look and work with them I love the design. The use of the bolt and the seal is going to make the threads stay much more protected from the elements.

Plus they look AWESOME!

Good catch - that was part of the design and placement of the crossmember. The rear of the skid plate will attach to the crossmsmber.

I think Mark has pictures of it already. I haven't been at his shop since Wednesday so I don't know what he has done since. I have a feeling that come Thursday morning it's going to be operation get Mark's rig ready before the 2 day club run.

Just think of the rear floor almost completly cut out and then a foot of the frame that sits right above the axle cut out. We bent up some custom shock hoops made out of d.o.m. and tied into the front and rear part of the frame.

Why not do something similar to Woody's rear shock setup??

Interesting Idea...

No way to keep it all under the truck. I'm running 14" Swayaway Coil overs...

Even if you mount the coilovers higher and tilted in slightly?

Yup, even doing that, they will come through the floor. That's really not a problem, but they are still tilted in more than I would like due to the frame rail clearance issues.

Stupid cruiser frame. ;)

(remember I am the one that cannot figure out how to mount my STANDARD shocks on the rear of my rig ;)

I figured they would come through the floor. Woody's do that..

do me a fovor and figure out a good way to do this. I really need to mount my rear shocks in a better fashion that I currently am..

Easy. Run really wide full width axles. :)
