tech content:
have a look at this, may give you some ideas on how to go about modding one of those

public service announcement:
there is a 3/4 ton military trailer for auction on govt liquidation in PA. $150 starting bid. It's an interesting hard body modified 3/4 ton. Surprisingly, it's shock full of power tools.
it's an odd affair and may go under the radar screen of the surplus dealers...

A bit far for me or I'd be all over this....

hope that this may be a great deal for somebody here or if not that a source of inspiration for your modding...

wow, didn't know the pioneers were sometimes auction'd w/tools. wicked-cool.

somebody in Austin had one for sale recently: he had some neat ideas while he was building it up.

Um.....

How do these internet auctions work? I may buy this trailer to replace my 416.

EDIT: If someone wants to buy my 416 I will definitely pick this pioneer up.

register, bid, hopefully win, pay, (some paperwork for da gov), pick-up by day posted.

edit: or, if you're me, quit at step 3 due to losing.

looks like you had a couple tire-kickers in your thread: tween that & the tools that come w/the Pioneer, you should be way ahead....

the ultimate camping trailer with these side wing doors....

man, I'd love to get one of those....

Talk to Davegonz.....he had one of these for a build but sold it to another forum member..but he'll have some helpfull insight I'm sure.

I don't see how the Gov acquired value is $22k for that.

The only tools worth a dang are the 2 or three old B&D magnesium cased items.

All that stuff was probably pretty expensive in '67. That chop saw is worth a couple grand new by itself.

Definitely going to call them about this. Anyone want a '67 M416?

yes, I'd like a 416, thanks! (Finder's fee I take it? :))

except, that one would also be a bit far for me, I imagine. Dang, can't win... :)

Are you suuuuure? If you really want to try to work it out, pm me.

meh, the Homelite XL 97 was not that great of a unit and sold for $680 at full retail.

Gotcha. When I used to do some dry masonry we used chop saws to cut block and it seemed that the cheapest model still cost over $1k.

ya'll are welcome to try & work out a mudship that drops off a trailer at my place in NM...

SOMEbody wants it pretty bad apparently. The bidding is up around $2500.

so much for staying under the radar... $2655 now....

at least I called it on being a desirable buy... :)

added: gone at 2655... wow!
