This weather is beautiful, and i want to put my soft top on.

I got the soft top from the PO, it's a new in box kayline.

Any tips on removing the hardtop, and installing the soft top?
I believe the hardtop has been on for quite a while.

Thanks in advance.

have a couple of buddys around cuz the hardtop isnt that light especially if you have accessories mounted to it like roofracks or an overhead console. the one thing that make the removal tricky is where the top attaches to the door post it has a pipe that goes about half a foot into the door post so make sure after eveything is taken off that you lift it till those pipes come out .

that was the only thing I had trouble with!

on the earlier ones one or two of the door striker plate bolts act as a hold down on that "B" pillar post on the top.
i'm not sure if that's also the case on later models. (73+ maybe)

Thanks guys. I'm debating taking the top off in 3 pieces, for easier storage.

coat the crap out of the bolts with pb blaster or wd40 or something every day for about a week before you start to unbolt it all.

I second that. I had to take mine completely apart for storage and I ended up breaking half the bolts in the gutter. I now have clamps holding my top on. :( My advice is to avoid taking it completely apart, unless you absolutely must.
