Hard top glue

What glue are yall using to glue the hardtop to the rain gutter? I still will be using rivets too but i saw most people use glue and rivets. Thanks!

I’ve used SEM panel adhesive though I will be watching this thread to see what others use as I will be lengthening a fiberglass top soon.

I’ve used SEM 39387 self leveling seam sealer in the gutter after riveting, but never used anything between the gutter and top. I sandblasted the gutter, fixed any rust, then epoxy primed the gutter, riveted to the top, used the seam sealer, then painted the whole assembly in the final color coat of paint. I don’t believe any I’ve ever taken apart were glued cap to gutter.

I used a light bead of Sikaflex 291, the long open time flavor, before doing the rivets. It is definitely optional, though:

If doing that, I'd recommend having clecos to pin it while the glue dries... but they're helpful in general for the alignment during riveting anyway.
