Won't start after a long run. Got the multi meter out and checked electrical and all OK whilst it was still hot.
After running out of ideas and believing it was starving for fuel i sprayed some 'start ya bastard' into the intake and it fired straight away like it was cold. I'm thinking it may me a fuel pump issue, the vehicle has 370k on it. Thought it might last a tad longer than though.

Finding an air leak is cheaper. Try pumping the hand pump before starting. If it starts its probably air.

1995 HDJ80 FT powered with 5 speed.
Starts awesome when cold, once driven for a while and stopped it is like something is drawing power, and therefore engine turns over slowly.
I have gotten use to using snow in the winter to cool off the fuel solenoid, and she will fire right up as if cold. Water ,and once a beer was used to cool the fuel solenoid. THIS has me stumped.
Interesting to note that the HZJ79's underground are having the same issues, and are also cooling the solenoid with water.
NOTE: Batteries are brand new, no vacuum air issues in fuel....only happens when engine is hot.
I will send/etransfer a Case of BEER to the genius who figures this out.

What if the rubber used in the shutoff valve gets "larger" or "sticky" With heat?
I work at Raglan Mine and i'll ask some folks from the garage if they have that issue.
However its cold year long underground here...

Long shot, buy are you running a 24 V solenoid on 12 V?

Starts well when cool. Also have 75 with 1hz and a hdt in an 81 series.
Disconnected the wiring from key to solenoid with a bypass wire from the IGN circuit via fuse box beside the air filter. This seems better as i starts after a drive without having to cool off the solenoid most times.
Since I have a Webasto, I've also started disconnecting the glow system just in case because something is drawing battery power until I cool the solenoid.
