I got the little press and by far made life sooooooo much easier for the $ I spent at HF I should have had one a long long time ago. There is a thread somewhere I'll try to find on reinforcing these with #8 that makes a ton of sense, replacing the thru bolts at the tops with singles and so forth, stiffens up the press quite a bit. The absolute last thing you want to hear when putting some tonnage down on something is a huge POP.

The welds on this are NOT the best. Going to sandblast around the welded areas reinforce a bunch of it before using it as a press brake.

That's pretty bold even for HF, personally I've never trusted any aluminum casting from china, ever. I'll opt for the break my back heavy jack every time.

I doubt that it is untrue. They're just saying that more people have bought them than any other model of jack. They aren't saying anything about the quality of the jack. And if you have to buy another one (and another one and another one) when the first one breaks...

For $40, that MIG cart isn't bad at all. The hardware that comes with it sucks though so I used all better stuff and made it pretty stout. I keep my MM211 on it.

Spook what did you do to make it more stout? I am thinking of grabbing that as a "gift" for my wife's uncle how said he would let me use his MIG/TIG 220v welder whenever I wanted to.

I'm curious as well. I've been storing my welder under my little homemade rolling work bench. I'm thinking of upgrading from flux so ill need a cart that can hold the gas tank.

Just a little larger hardware and larger O.D. washers where they would fit was all it took. I started putting it together with the hardware that came with it and it felt flimsy as hell. So I got I think just one size up on the bolts and slightly longer so there would be split and fender washers under both the head and the nut in all locations. Made a considerable difference.

I got one for ~$25 after coupons!:hillbilly: Nice unit, works fine, is plenty sturdy with the stock hardware/casters. But, mine only has a Lotos Mig 175 and Longevity 50D plasma on it.
